The Winter List — Cinematic 3D Stealth Adventure

Plan a collective escape in a story-driven 3D stealth adventure set in 1943. Built with Babylon.js and Nuxt, playable in your browser and on desktop.

The Winter List is a cinematic 3D stealth adventure about preparing a collective escape. In November 1943, Mateo receives a note: prisoners at Falkenried will be transferred before winter. Getting out means understanding the camp, finding people he can trust and building a plan from the few resources available.

Falkenried and its characters are fictional. The game draws on the atmosphere of classic escape adventures, with observation, preparation and cooperation at the centre of the experience.

Prepare the escape

  • Learn the routine. Study patrols and daily schedules, use cover and create distractions to move without attracting attention.
  • Build trust. Talk to fellow prisoners, help them and earn their support for the operation.
  • Improvise a route. Gather tools, protect documents and prepare a way out through the camp's interconnected spaces.
  • Adapt to setbacks. Capture can cost time, equipment and freedom of movement. Recover what you can and look for another opening.
  • Shape the outcome. A four-act campaign connects the barracks, yard, railway workshop and underground passages. Your preparations and choices affect the ending.

Play in the browser or on desktop

The full adventure is available free on itch.io, with a browser version and downloads for Windows, macOS and Linux. Text and voices are available in English and Spanish. Keyboard, gamepad and touch controls are supported; use landscape orientation on touch devices.

Progress saves locally. Browser and desktop saves are separate, and starting a new operation replaces the previous save. Visit the itch.io page for current downloads, controls and optional soundtrack and wallpaper extras.

Development notes

The project combines Babylon.js for the 3D world with Nuxt, Vue and JavaScript for the application, menus and interface. Electron packages the desktop versions. Game rules and persistent state are kept separate from the rendering and interface layers.

Real-time play alternates with illustrated cinematics, voiced dialogue and an atmospheric soundtrack. As disclosed on itch.io, AI tools assisted development and audiovisual production; those assets are prepared in advance and included in the game.
